Biography:

Matteo Tegoni is Associate Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Parma, where he obtained the habilitation as Full Professor in 2018. He has been visiting student at the University of Leiden (with Jan Reedijk), at the Universidade Tecnica de Lisboa (with Amelia Santos Seabra), and visiting researcher at the University of Michigan (with Vincent Pecoraro).  His primary interests are in the field the thermodynamic study of the formation in solution of transition metal complexes with peptides and proteins, and in the study of the self-assembly of metallacrowns in solution. He has been coordinator of a Marie Curie IRSES project on Metallacrowns (with 7 EU and non-EU partners), and coordinator of two bilateral Italy- USA projects (one on de novo designed metallopeptides and one on metallacrowns). Currently he is Short Term Scientific Missions coordinator of the COST Action NECTAR (Network for Equilibria and Chemical Thermodynamics Advanced Research). He has delivered invited lectures at international conferences on bioinorganic chemistry and he chaired the 1st International Symposium on Metallacrowns and Metallacryptates.
