Biography:
Franziska Lederer studied microbiology at the University of Rostock and finished her PhD thesis in 2012 with a focus on heterologous expression of surface layer proteins for remediation purposes.
With a Marie Curie International Outgoing Fellowship Franziska started her career in the identification of metal binding peptides at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Back home in Germany, Franziska developed a technology platform for peptide identification for resource recovery. Since 2018, Franziska is leading the Junior Research Group BioKollekt, which develops peptide-based separation tools for the recovery of valuables from electronic scrap.
