Title: TBA

Biography:

Jamie Platts is Professor of Computational Chemistry at Cardiff University, Wales UK. He received his PhD from Cardiff University in 1996 for theoretical work on basicity and hydrogen bonding, before taking up post-doctoral positions at McMaster University (Canada) and University College London (UK), where he integrated theoretical concepts in intermolecular interactions into high-throughput screening tools for pharmaceutical and environmental applications. Since taking up an independent position in Cardiff in 1999, he has developed interests in inorganic and bio-inorganic chemistry, with focus on simulation and prediction of structural, dynamical and spectroscopic of transition metal, main group and f-element complexes and their interactions with biomolecules, including peptides and nucleic acids.
