THOMAS Franziska, Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg, Germany

De novo design of beta-sheet mini-metalloenzymes

Franziska Thomas studied chemistry at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, where she received her PhD in 2010. After a postdoctoral stay at the University of Bristol, UK, where she worked with Dek Woolfson, she became an independent research group leader at the University of Göttingen. Since 2019, she is Junior Professor of Organic Chemistry at Heidelberg University. Her research interests include the de novo design of miniproteins including metal-binding miniproteins and the development of new methods for the late-stage functionalisation of peptides.
