Getting there
By train
Travelling by train to Toulouse will take you directly to the vibrant heart of the city: the place du Capitole, the Victor Hugo market, or The Basilica of Saint-Sernin – to name but a few – are within walking distance of the station, as well as many hotels and restaurants.
During you travel, you will be able to enjoy the scenery or get some work done as train lines across Europe are now equipped with free wifi and power sockets for recharging phones and laptops. It is also a convenient way to travel, as there are no restrictions on luggage (and poster tubes) and you don’t need to be at the station several hours in advance.
Not sure where to start to plan your trip? Here are some very useful websites that will hopefully answer your questions:
- The Man in Seat Sixty-One will tell you all there is to know on train travel in Europe
- Trainline is a good train travel planner
- You might want to consider buying an Interrail/Eurail pass for your trip or the SNCF Avantage Adulte pass
